Heyy

I have my GCSE History exam (Edexcel) coming up on Wednesday, and as I'm not very good with the Paper 1 (essay based questions), I was wondering if anyone would be able to go through this and tell me where to improve?? In particular, any general comments or tips in relation to answering the types of questions (Why, In What way did, Describe the Key Features Of "x") would be great

I basically did all the question parts in 30 minutes to give myself a bit less time, so its not as good as I would have liked. Also, I probably have repeated certain facts a lot of times :P: but normally they ask more varied questions in exam papers.

Thanks in advance xxx

OK ... so, Hi! :)
Welcome.

Firstly, this forum does not provide a question-marking service so, sorry, no, we don't look over your answers for you. I suggest you go into school today or tomorrow and ask your teacher to give you a little time to talk about your answers.

Secondly, there is nowhere I know of which gives advice about how to answer the different kinds of questions for the Edexcel exam.

However, there are two things you can usefully do online:
1. If you look on my website on this page, you will find - look especially at the 'Read This' box top right - advice on how to answerthe different kind of questions for the AQA exam. Many of the questions are the same as in the Edexcel exam, so the advice will cover both exams.

2. If you go to this page on the Edexcel ste and look at the markscheme for your paper, you will be able to see what the examiner is looking for when he marks the different kinds of questions.

Hope this helps.
