After careful thought, Crazy-Fish, I have decided not to accept your question.

There was nothing wrong with your question - indeed, I believe that it is a question which very much needs debating.

However, opening it up on this forum threatens to attract a whole load of prejudiced and violent extremists who will target this forum in a number of ways, and that in turn will undermine our forum's primary aim, which is to give pupils help with their History!

There are forums on the internet whose primary purpose is to discuss political questions, and - if you want to pursue these issues - I suggest you do so on a dedicated forum.

I hope you do not feel rebuffed by this answer - indeed I was VERY tempted to take up the thread, because as you know I am politically active myself - but sometimes discretion is the better part of valour.
