Hi there, im doing the AQA HS5U paper which covers Britian from 1951-1997 and i have been learning alone as i am retaking, without help from teachers or tutors.
I was hoping someone could let me know of the amount of detail i should know on the subject matter. Would it help to have a thinner knowledge of everything or a more in depth knowledge of a few key times such as Thatcher?
Also, could you help me with some pointers on how to prepare for the exam, with timings being my major fault as i seem to always run out of time for the last question. Also, i remember having to make a point, then back it up with evidence. Is this what i will need to do for this paper or could you help with the way to approach answering.
Furthermore, i get really nervous that something like the syllabus has changed and ive been revising the wrong thing. If someone could just confirm that this will be the area covered in the paper this year it would shake a lot of relief from my mind.
Thanks, Bill

Each type of essay needs a slightly different approach. You will find out some of what is needed from the examiners' markschemes, but it is always worth discussing individual essay-types with us. Before you do, try searching for
+essay +structure
on this forum and follow the links.
