On behalf of the teachers who help on the forum, may I thank you for saying 'thank you'.
The teachers who reply to students' questions do so for free, in their own free time, most of them in addition to teaching all day in a full-time job.
Their only reward - apart from personal satisfaction - is when a student such as yourself remembers to say thank you.
It is truly appreciated - it makes it all worthwhile.
We wish you the very best for the future.

Thank you for your kind words.
However, the reason you have done so well is that you are obviously a very clever and hard-working pupil.
It is a delight to be able to be a little help from time to time - that, of course, is what this History Help forum is for!

I was going to make a topic along these lines, but as one is already waiting for approval, I didn't want to annoy admin
Anyway, I guarantee that the help I've had on this forums - particularly when I posted about sourcework - is the reason why I've done so well. I'm so overly happy with all my results this year, and know that where my actual teachers were mainly responsible, resource sites like these is where I've found the revision necessary, and the advice necessary to succeed...I'll probably be using it doubly next year!

Hi! I hadn't registered as a poster before today as I was studying GCSE History with AQA - The most obscure specification © too - I could well have been the only person studying it this year! Ha ha! I just read everything I could which offered general advice about what each question was getting at and how to answer them properly.
Anyway, I specifically registered because I got my results today (I was an external candidate, using a correspondence course) and wanted to share mine with you.
I was thrilled to discover that I got an A* for History and I have to say it's all thanks to this site and I want to say a specific thank you to John D Clare.
I was completely lost and was in tears many nights with my History work. My tutor wasn't very helpful and I just didn't understand why I kept getting a B in test papers and my tutor would simply write "Good" and not offer any support to improve on that! I was getting really worked up because he wasn't helping me see where I could improve.
Thanks to you, I started to understand what the questions really mean and little memory tricks such as "PEE Every paragraph" soon turned my work around. I simply used the same knowledge much, much more effectively - I hadn't realised how much I needed to expand what I was saying - it was staying in my head and not going on the paper! You actually helped me to enjoy the subject again and I got back into it. You kept my enthusiasm going when I started to lose sight of what I was trying to achieve!
Thank you so, so much. I am sure you know how much this has meant to me and to many other students, I am sure! Thank you.
