i have to write an essay on the topic 'appeasement'. firstly, was it the right or wrong thing to do? i know there may not be a clear cut answer but i plan to write on the pros and cons of appeasement and finally conclude by either being for it or against it. can anyone here provide thier personal opinion on whether this was a good or bad decision?

could someone also give me details/main points for both supporting and against appeasement. so far, i know the reasons to support it was to stall for time as the british military strengthened itself and prepare for a war later on or prevent outbreak of war. yet, i can't figure out why appeasement is a bad thing. (encourage hitler to continue expanding territory perhaps?)
