Hello,
As it is the holidays i thought i would do some reading up on this topic for my history coursework project next year. However, it's such a large subject i have no idea where to start!! I have a general overview of the main events, people and key dates, but as to what topic to focus my coursework on i'm clueless.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a particularly interesting event/time to focus on (particularly in the main stages of the movement (1860-1960)), or even areas that particularly interest you regarding the movement?

Thank you for your feedback :)

I had to swot this subject up for a textbook I was writing recently and, to tell you the truth, I found that there was a dearth of good relevant books, even in the local university library.

The best - which I started with and which gave me the foundation I needed - was a really good Hodder Access to History book on the subject.
