Hey History Help forums.
It's James, your longest "resident"
I have learned that.
In World War One.
Russia, Britain and France Allied.
Against
Germany and Austria-Hungary
But I need to know the names of both of the actual alliances.
Thanks for everything!
James

Enjoy
Note that the alliance system ws slightly more complicated than G+A-H+I versus F+R+GB.
Japan was allied to Britain.
Seria was allied to Russia - this was VERY significant.
There were some others (see here).

And I have just read that, and I couldn't see the names of the Alliances.
Could you highlight them or something?
It must be my stupid eyesight!

Just read http://www.johndclar...2.htm#Alliances.
The section comprises 184 words, and the names of the two alliances account for 4 of them.
I am sure you are intelligent enough to find the answer for yourself!

Hey,
Well done!
Small point - please re-read the information carefully. The Entente Cordiale didn't include Russia
Also, we were always told NOT to call the Entente Cordiale an alliance or we wouldn't get the mark. Although it was an important part of the systems of a agreements and alliances, it wasn't an alliance.
There were different names and stages in both the agreement / alliance systems. Worth getting to know.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell me anything about what happened after Gbrielo [sp?] Princhip [sp?] killed Franz Ferdinand?
(After all of Europe started to help one-another)

You are now looking at the steps to war following the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The assassin was called Gavrilo Princip.
The assassination itself did not start the war, it triggered a series of events that led to the outbreak of war in August 1914.
follow the steps to war here: www.johndclare.net/causes_WWI4.htm
