Thanks - that has made things a bit simpler to understand. I have discovered that Selkirk High School covers this topic in the standard grade history course - Does anyone know if they have downloadable notes on their website?

Hi,
You'll need to have a look yourself at Selkirk's website to see if they have notes online. There is very little in the way of India notes out there commercially because literally only a handful of schools cover this topic.
Personally I am not mad on the Hodder Gibson book, but check it out. Ask your teacher or librarian if they have a copy you can have a look at first.
