Hello! I would like to ask certain questions regarding several topics that I may have difficulty in. It would be a great honor for you to support me and help me with them. Thanks for everything you have done for the past few years I really appreciate it

Really?  You could have fooled me.  Anyway, you don't have to do everything unless you are aiming to get 100%.  Just do most of it and you should be fine. 

 

 

 

Haha yes time is the hardest part if only it was an hour for reading one day and writing another. What's the what to write tips again? I just hope I get at least a B as I will be needing it to get sociology.

 

 

It's a real test with the added time pressure.  You have done loads of these and made massive progress, mainly because you have a great attitude.  It's been a long time since I gave you much help, but I do keep looking in to see how you are doing.  We can't guarantee what you'll get but, with all the work you have done, I am sure you will get the excellent results you really deserve.

Well I guess those sophisicated phrases or words used with sentence variety. Haha. Well I'm trying to aim for the most as last year they cut down the grade boundaries. Yes it is a real test. Thanks a lot for all the advices mr Bryant

Hey well the articles were mainly about junk food and the harms or becoming a vegetarian etc. I started with question 6 that had a writing on persuade the young readers about the damages of eating, not exercising and using the leisure wisely or something. So talking about dieting and lifestyle. Q5 was about describing worst and best meal that u have had and explain it. Well I did q1-3 ok but I had less time for q4, I hope I wrote a sufficient amount for that :L well now I better start R.E for tomorrow and let's see if I end that forever on a happy note.

Can't really help with geography.

My guess would be to go fact-heavy.

My advice would be to ignore whatever i tell you and to do what your teacher says!

Hey I have only one more exam left on geography and I'm not very good at the subject. I have put the question on the History Teachers' forum, and hopefully someone there will be able to help.

 

Have you looked at the past papers to see the kind of questions they asked in the past - e.g. in 2012.

It seems to start with some straightforward extraction questions, and then move on to explanation and analysis questions seeing how well you understood the booklet.

 

So my advice would be to study the booklet and make sure you are very familiar with it and understand and can explain everything in it.

In particular, look at the options topic at the end - make sure you have thought of some 'fors' and 'against' for each of the options.

I would say though that they will almost certainly have to link everything back to the idea that Uganda is a LEDC which is both a cause and an effect of the big issues the country faces. E.g:

 

They are less developed and so they have poor education and so HIV is spread a lot more. However because a large amount of people have the disease, the working population is less productive, meaning the country as a whole becomes less developed. This is known as a 'negative multiplier effect'.

 

I would recommend the student carries out some extra research on the topics-not much but maybe a fact or two that they can remember to show that they really know the issues. Maybe finding a 2013 fact or figure where it is 2010 in the booklet? 

 

It may be worth checking a geography ning on the topic because sometimes people will put up potential exam questions they have created?

Aww ur so not a failure. Always been there to help even when u don't know the answer. I'm the failure haha. Yes I saw the past papers and section a seems to do with the location, etc, section b with the issues like poverty, education, HIV (health), energy etc and section c is the hardest as u have to discuss what u think the best option is-I think it's option 3 as health is very essential and by building rural health clinics could improve child mortality etc. for uganda. For kabujogera (village), option 1, may be good as they won't be able to sell food and travel with tarmack roads. the worst option might be option 2 (national farm advisory service) as kabujogera receives 85% being subsistence farmers and fertile volcanic soil/good rainfall. U could improve yield through education not chemical or by having electricity. The worst option for uganda might be option 4 as by providing safe piped water for all is already been met by mdg goal 7b-they have clean access to drinking water.

Lol I'm trying to read the booklet but I don't know why it's not going into my head :/ and I dunno what to write for the location if it asks to describe it? Do u write its in east Africa etc. thanks again. Sorry for all the trouble. U must be annoyed during the years of me always asking for help :/ hopefully in a levels the help would be decreased

Omg thanks so much Mr Podesta and ur geography teacher friend so I should always link back to uganda being a LEDC-I will have to remember that and getting facts from 2013. Btw, do u have any opinions for section c, which is the best/worst option etc and why? That would really help me too. For section a, will I have to talk about the location and section b about the issues being faced there. Do u have any more cause/effects that will benefit thanks again
