Mr Moorhouse
For Key Stages 1-3, students might find the ncaction.org.uk website useful. This site provides examples of work at every national curriculum level and explains why the work fits the criteria.

Student friendly versions of the National Curriculum Levels can be downloaded in word format from these links. Levels 4-6 and Levels 7 and 8. To understand how to progress from one level to the next, this powerpoint presentation may come in handy, as will these learning goals / targets.

GCSE students might find these documents of use. They identify the key features of students work at different levels / grades. Try and work out where you are on the grid, then look at the next stage to work out what you need to do to improve. Two word documents, here and here. You might also find a self evaluation of your work useful. This grid is easy to use for this purpose.

After some guidance on GCSE coursework? This booklet provides general gidance for students following the Modern World course. Much of it is relevant to other courses though. Please note: beyond offering general guidance such as this, we are unable to comment on coursework issues as it can be considered to be cheating by the exam boards. For further guidance you MUST go to your own History teacher.

AS/A2 students might find this document of use when evaluating essays prior to submission. Note: there are lots of kinds of question asked at AS/A2 and you'd need t adapt the grid to fit several types of question, however the basic principles behind the grid apply in most cases.

Note: this thread is closed. If you are a teacher who has additional links / guidance to add to this thread, please contact one of the administrators. Students who have questions relating to any of the markschemes or guidance sheets, please post elsewhere in the forum but do bear in mind that we cannot offer any additional advice about coursework.
