Hi!!

I have a gcse mock history paper next week. My teacher has given us a list of topics to revise from. I'm doing edexcel moden world history.

One of the topics is on the New Frontier. I was wondering what were the actual reasons for the New Frontier. Was it because JFK wanted to keep the economy as the strongest in the world? What other reasons were there?

Also why was the New Frontier important. I'm confused whether or not to include JFK's policies, social reforms and civil rights on this question because I don't have any other notes

Lastly there will also be a question on the women's movement. What do you think are the key points to mention on this question? I've got a long timeline about the changes in attitudes but am not sure exactly what to include.

Any help will be very greateful

Thank you very much
Dr Dennis
Actual reasons for the New Frontier? Kennedy wanted to create a new kind of politics and restore American prestige abroad.

As to why it was important, that can many different forms. It was important because of what happened after he was killed (Johnson's Great Society), his desire to create a more just society and its affects on US society (civil rights, medical care etc). His policies are important as the New Frontier cannot be easily defined and the policies are a way of explaining it.

I would divide your work on the Women's movement into causes, key features and consequences. This should allow you to cover the whole topic and will allow you to answer any question. smile.gif

It is funny as you sound like one of my students! smile.gif
